Yard sale

When we had organized our closet upstairs we had decided to have a yard sale or better - garage sale. I was up early and prepared everything. October is late in the season, but our house is close enough to a major cross street to attract visitors. I had made a big sign and put it up on the street. The things we had to sell were in the driveway. The biggest we wanted to get rid off was a large 2-drawer file cabinet. We had a very slow start and I called my Mom in Germany while waiting. As soon as she was on the phone traffic started rolling in. I had to call her back.

I sold a few things right away. Heidi from across the came over and brought her stuff she wanted to sell. She had pricture frames and some other stuff. 2 hours later we called it quit. Traffic was only minor. I had sold most of my items anyway and had made about $70.00. Money we wanted to use to buy baby stuff. :)

I went to the Motor Vehicle Office of the county to pay for my annual license plates. I had so many people in front of me that I just pulled a number and went shopping. I came back 20 minutes later and my number was still far from being called. I drove home, put my groceries in the fridge and went back to the Motor Vehicle Office. Still 12 people in front of me. I decided to wait. When my number was almost being called I took another look at the notification card that I had brought from home: “Emissions Test Required” I read. :( Duh - Me, idiot had forgotten to pay attention. I left before being called and went to get my emissions test done. After that I was sick of waiting and went home.

Simone came home from work for lunch. She looked wonderful. It’s almost like that yesterdays event lifted her spirits by 500%. We both felt so happy.

At night we met with Conni, our friend from Colorado Springs. She invited us out for dinner. We had a great time and talked about baby stuff and other things. Conni has 3 kids.
