It is getting difficult ….

We had an appointment with a different pediatrician yesterday. Man, this is getting tough to decide on. Two different personalities, two different practices but apparently two really good doctors (at least from what we can tell). We will probably have to flip a coin to make a decision. This second pediatrician was a little more outgoing and open compared to the first one. With the first one we had the impression that she needs a moment to warm or at least that first visit to open up. But she made a very dedicated impression (and so does the second one, too).

We highly recommend to come up with some sort of catalog with questions to ask your future pediatrician. This will make it much easier to compare your candidates of choice. We also recommend to rate the practice and the staff when you get there. We use a scale from one to five to rate everything. So, when it comes to the moment of making a decision we will have at least something to work with. For the questions to ask – please visit http://www.firsttimepregnancy.com/74.html (the article will be available on March 20, 2005) to see some sample questions for your visit at a pediatrician.

We also used http://www.healthgrades.com/ to find out who are the best doctors in town. However – none of our choices was in the system. And for both doctors we had referrals from friends or co-workers. So, you might find a doctor via healthgrades.com but maybe you don’t. We were not extremely impressed with healthgrades.com and are at least at the current time hesitating to use their service again.
