C-Section?

When the contractions became stronger again the baby’s heart rate went down again. Not as bad as earlier but still to critical levels. We were very concerned but the nurse did not make a concerned impression. I’d rather had the impression that she did not read our chart at all and therefore did not know why we are actually here.

Around 6.30 AM the baby was suffering again when contractions came in. We discussed the whole issue with the OB on duty and she agreed that stopping the contractions here and opt for a C-section would be a valid step to the better for the baby. Simone was suffering and I felt really bad giving the advice to opt for the C-section. I was her coach and should be able to make more neutral decisions but at this point I did not see much success for a normal vaginal delivery anymore. The call was made. A C-section birth it would be.

The contractions were stopped and Simone was prepped for the C-section. I received some sterile clothes for the surgery room as I wanted to be there for Simone and for the baby when it was delivered. I called our friend Heidi and informed her about what had happened over night and that we were going for the C-section.
